Automatic Batch Blender (ABB).
The perfect blending unit for small batches and complex formulations.
The AUTOMATIC BATCH BLENDER (ABB) based on weighing technology is most profitable for economic batch sizes of less
than 15-25 metric tons and is very easy to use with modern, complex formulations. It consists of a 5 to 20 metric
tons blending vessel and an optional 0.5 to 2 metric tons blending/pre-blending vessel. They are mounted on high
precision load cells. The blending vessel is equipped with dosing header, heating half pipes, mixer and automatic
discharge valve.
The system is connected to the dedicated pipelines for base oils and additives. The additives are added from the top of the vessel. Shutoff valves control the flow rate in two stages, decrease the flow rate and finally switch off when set point is reached. The sequence is: The coarse dosing the inlet valve and the header valve will be open 100%. When the fine set point is achieved, the inlet valve will close to e.g. 5% for fine dosing. When the main set point is achieved, the inlet valve will be closed and the header valve is open 100%. The advantage of this dosing is a high-speed procedure. During the dosing of the components a very effective mixer is running continuously, the product is homogenized shortly after dosing the last component. The operator can manually add smaller components to the weighing container. The finished product is then pumped via pigging lines into holding tanks, analyzed and fill in finished product units via filling lines. The skid-mounted process manufacturing modules are made of stainless steel to enable a fast and waste-free decanting. The ABB uses most accurate load cells and has the following advantages: - No influence of alterations concerning the density, viscosity, pressure and temperature of the products on the dosing result. - Air-inclusions in the products without influence. - Batch sizes can be smaller than 2 metric tons. - Very easy to use with modern, complex formulations. - Skid mounted Module for easy integration into existing production units. |
