Dissolving Mixing Blender (DMB). Improving Synthetic Lubricants. During the production of synthetic lubricants based on Hydrocrack-, PAO- or gas to liquid (GTL) base oils, powdery and liquid additives and pigments have to be inducted into the base oil.

Traditional mixing technology (i.e. air bubbling or stirrer) doesn’t achieve the required physical stability. After some weeks of storage segregation is possible, i.e. during shipping from the manufacturer in Europe to the OEM in Asia (re-agglomeration). The consistency and homogenization of the high tech lubricants can’t be guaranteed.

A solution is to induct powdery and liquid additives and disperse it and distribute it homogeneously into the liquid. Several processing steps are required when using conventional processing like heating up the batch blender, mixing, wait for cooling down for filling.

eeG processing technology:

Starting from the fundamental idea of dispersing additives “wetted” by base oils in a large liquid base oil surface, eeG developed the revolutionary DMB technology. When using a DMB (Dissolving Metering Blender) the additives are immediately “wetted” by base oils, completely de-agglomerated, dispersed and homogeneously distributed. The eeG DMB technology provides stabilisation and prevents the additives from re-agglomerating.

The advantages of the eeG DISSOLVING METERING BLENDER are:

- High physical stability due to the adsorption of base oil species or molecules at the additive surface preventing re-agglomerating.
- Higher efficiency of the used additives (higher viscosity at the same concentration).
- Less equipment, time and energy consumption due to reduced processing steps.
- DMB-Technology suitable for retrofitting.
